How much longer before we start hearing the rumors that the team are looking to sell at the deadline? Amazing that even a GM and coaching change have failed to alter the course of this season even slightly.

So hard to watch...

At least it looks like Fletch is NOT going to do something stupid like make a trade to squeeze into the playoffs. I am OK w FULL rebuild, just not the 1/2 rebuild and 1/2 "compete" Hexy was trying to pull off...

Stop having kids Neuvirth. You’re not gonna have the money to take care of them soon.

It’s getting really hard to give a (frank) about this team anymore, and that’s coming from a fan whose earliest memories of the team include names like Doug Favell, Andre Lacroix and Jean-Guy Gendron.

Hard to make a deal if no one is buying what you are selling.

The mistakes that doomed this team were made in the offseason:

You move on from Neuvirth and do what it takes to bring in another veteran goalie.

You don’t allow the team to go into camp hoping that Weal or a prospect can be the 3rd center you badly need.

These 2 gaffes put the team at a disadvantage from game 1. We talk about players underperforming all day, but if this team starts the season with a quality, experienced goalie who can play the majority of the games and 1 more solid middle 6 center, they are likely competing for a playoff spot right now and no one would be out of a job.

You have to wait for the deadline to trade, the flyers will put a streak together, that streak will hopefully raise the value of some players

Sure it is a soft trade market, the bigger issue is the heartless play has really depressed the value of the assets

And you went out and signed van Riemsdyk long term but was that foolish now looking how the roster could get a little reshaping?

And i don't know but he just doesn't look great. i know he scored but he just seems like he isn't engaged a lot. Is he really that reliant on a center?

The 3 point games keep teams close. Once you get closer to the deadline there will be more of a seller and buyer list. Hopefully lots of buyers and maybe you get rivals and teams that could face each other bidding for the same guys like Simmonds or other targets you have.

Not defending JVR but a player who scores in tight needs someone to get him the puck, hex should have had a plan for that. JVR based on games played is on pace for 48 points, not great but not the problem with the team. Hägg has as many points as provy and Sanheim, the pieces just don’t fit together. They need another good center, they need speed with play making ability.

They need another good center, they need speed with play making ability, speed and a high hockey IQ. I love Jake, he has speed and he can pass but does have hockey IQ, I don’t think he has the hands of a kuck or point in Tampa. I think they are the type of players missing, not saying them specifically as we know that is not happening but if TK and Patrick showed more of that type of play, this team would fit better

The return the flyers get on Simmonds, jake, coots will be minimal. Last yr my brother in law thought the sabres were going to get a ton for kane. They ended up getting a late 1st and a player who plays in the minors. That 1st only became a 1st because kane resigned with sj.Otherwise it would have been a 2nd. No my brother in law isnt Garth.lol.

Bill,

Is it too late for Fletcher to make a move to try and make the playoffs this year?

Who are some players that the Flyers might/should trade if they are sellers other then Simmonds? Voracek, Ghost, JVR?

Lol. They'd have to go 30-12 the rest of the way to make the playoffs. This season is lost.

I think Kane is a little overrated. Not saying he isn't a good player but i think he was more of a name. I believe that's why you didn't see the big offers you thought.
